The Cathedral of Junk is a really unique place to visit in Austin and it can be a real eye opener.  Not to mention a creative trigger!  One man took the time to collect all sorts of otherwise useless items and created what many see as an interactive masterpiece.  Visitors can climb the cathedral structure, slide back down and sit on the “throne” among other things.  There's heaps to see here and it's worth taking your time rather than rushing through.

There are also plenty of shops to explore throughout the city of Austin.  Clarksville District is great for shopping and eating.  You will find organic food markets and the perfect healthy snacks for the rest of your trip.

The Central Market focusses on food items and, for those who love trying new dishes, this is the place to go and explore various delicacies from near and far.

The Domain is great for mainstream shopping with over 100 stores to visit and the fact that if feels like it's set in a park makes it that much more fun.

The city is filled with old structures, museums and the evening brings out all the local live performers.  Day and night, there is no way that visitors could ever get bored in this fine city!
